You have probably already read our tips for combatting YOUR dry skin this winter, but what about the kids?
Kids can really suffer in the cooler months, eczema, chapped lips, redness, dry blotchy skin. It sucks!!
My toddler refuses to have anything put on his skin so I have to improvise!
Here are some great tips that have helped me!
Use a good quality bath oil.
OMG this made a huge difference for my kids! I use coconut oil, but you have to be very careful as it can be super slippery! a little bit in the bath will help the skin to absorb the oils and relieve the whole body. I usually put a bit extra on their faces. There are loads of bath oils on the market, I use coconut oil because it is all natural and thats my jam, but there are loads out there to try.
Bath salts that contain bicarb soda and essential oils.
My kids love adding salts to their baths, they are constantly stealing mine! I like to use a natural blend for the kids with some bicarb as well.
Bath soaks can have so many great benefits for kids. I like to use calming essential oils in mine, which helps to chill everyone out before bed.
The sulphates in Epsom salts help draw toxins and heavy metals from the body. While Bicarb can draw impurities and toxins out of the skin, both boosting the immune system and eliminating toxin build-up.
OATS!
Oats are an amazing natural ingredient that can help with skin conditions such as eczema with kids. You can use a small sack or make your own out of an old stocking (just cut off the foot) through a cup of rolled oats into the sack tie it off and throw it in the bath with the kids! It is AMAZING for their skin, and so cheap and easy to do!
A good quality natural moisturiser.
We LOVE Chamonix Rain Moisturisers and body wash, it's a staple in our house! Use it after bath time, and in the morning for an extra moisture boost.
Avoid soaps, bubble bath and harsh shampoos.
If you are using coconut oil or Oates you will be pleased to know that both are good for cleansing as well. Oats contain saponins, a mild cleansing agent and are also an anti inflammatory making them perfect for a gentle cleanse.
If you do want to use a soap I definitely recommend Chamonix Rain Body Wash, it's amazing, organic, and gentle on skin.
We are so excited to be launching a new kids range which will include several Bath Soaks especially for kids!
Inspired by my own kids stealing my bath salts all the time ❤️

Becoming a teenager is tough. Your body is rife with hormone surges, everything is exacerbated, feelings, moods, friendships, dramas, and skin problems tend to pop up as well.
I remember someone telling me when i was a teenager that using a plain old bar of soap was the best thing for your skin 😳. Needless to say, I suffered tremendously with breakouts, and just really unpredictable skin, even in to my 20's and early 30's.
